Radiofrequency treatment reduces pain by decreasing the pain signals the treated nerves transmit to the brain. Interruption of the pain signals allow the patient to experience relief from pain and discomfort in the treated area.

Radiofrequency treatment can be used to help patients with chronic lower back and neck pain or arthritis. Depending on the cause and location of pain, the degree of pain relief achieved with radiofrequency treatment varies. Pain relief can last from 6 to 12 months.
